The efficient production of our crops must be increased to meet the needs of an ever-growing human population, without harming the environment and its diversity, while ensuring food safety and qual- ity. This is a great challenge before us and one that we cannot avoid. Producers have several tools at their disposal to improve and pre- serve soil and plant health, and thus improve crop quality. These types of products are regulated under different legislations in their respective marketing locations, where both the manufacturer and the user are required to comply. Among these alternatives are plant protection products known as “biocontrol”, be- ing a developing market with a growing and successful trend, where products can be applied to ecological agriculture.
