—What does it mean to you and your company to receive the “Com- pany of the Year” Ponce de León Award? —The Ponce De Leon Awards is a truly great pleasure, it means dis- covery, it means adventure, it means uniting my experience in Spain and the US. And I am thankful that the Spain-US Chamber of Com- merce has believed that I am worthy of this award. This recognition is a humbling gift to the dedication and passion that has fueled this journey in the clean energy industry, which began in Spain two decades ago and now continues in the United States with Powin. It means two things: one – to be successful as an immigrant coming from Spain to the US and being able to explore new opportunities in a very difficult industry like renewables but also to be able to pursue a dream to make the world a better place. The work we do at Powin and the previous jobs I had in my career try to impact the world in a positive way. The need for renewable energy, the need for energy storage, solar, for wind is extremely important for the future of our generations. My career going through Power Electronics, then at Shneider, then at Siemens, and now at Powin has always been trying to make the world a better place. —How is the American group Powin and yourself linked to Spain? —Our business holds a strong connection to Spain, driven by two pivotal factors. Firstly, we recently inaugurated a new office in Spain, marking a significant step in our expansion into international mar- kets, with a particular emphasis on Spain, the UK, and Western Eu- rope. This office also serves as our global hub for sales excellence, enabling us to cater to a broader spectrum of emerging markets, including APAC, Latin America, and the Middle East. Secondly, our connection to Spain is bolstered by our strategic alliance with eks Energy, a leading power electronics company that specializes in fa- 46 ON THE SPOTLIGHT BY EFE COMUNICA
